Washington | United States Vice President J.D. Vance has called on foreign allies to lock in co-ordinated trade rules that would offer price guarantees for new sources of critical minerals in an attempt to break China’s dominance of the sector.
The Trump administration marshalled the European Union and 54 nations, including Australia, to a ministerial summit in Washington on Wednesday (Thursday AEDT) to pitch a new trade bloc that would lock in price floors for commodities needed for high-tech industries such as defence, energy and technology.
