Why this Atlassian-backed company took on the ticketing giants

The founders of Humanitix saw huge potential for their social enterprise by combining technology and the high booking fees charged by ticketing companies.

Humanitix may have only just landed a slot on the 2025 The Australian Financial Review Corporate Philanthropy 50 list, but the not-for-profit ticketing platform is confident it will bounce up the annual ranking – and how.

Humanitix is one of a small, but growing, band of social enterprises established with the purpose of donating either all, or a substantial portion, of their profits to charity. Other high-profile brands in the burgeoning sector include toilet paper company Who Gives a Crap and Thankyou Group, a personal care products company.
