A Jewish community representative will preview and critique exhibitions from the Sydney Biennale before they open to the public to try to avoid an Adelaide Writers Week-type furore and counter claims that many artists on the program hold anti-Zionist views.
NSW Jewish Board of Deputies president David Ossip said he would accept the biennale board’s offer of a walk-through of the exhibits and would object to anything on the program he regarded as antisemitic or that might incite anti-Jewish sentiment.
