For seven decades, Lindsay Fox has built an empire that now stretches from trucks to airports to property. The businessman and his family, wife Paula and their five children, have amassed a fortune estimated at $5.7 billion and political influence far beyond their enormous wealth.

Now, however, Lindsay is approaching his 89th birthday. As the patriarch faces not only old age but serious illness, it is the family succession plan and the future of the Linfox empire that is coming into focus, particularly given Peter Fox – Lindsay’s eldest son – has stepped away until April.
