British clean energy developer Octopus Investments has snapped up two battery development projects in Australia, paving the way for a $3.3 billion investment that will include building the country’s biggest battery.
The Hanworth battery, to be built near Bannaby in the NSW Southern Tablelands, will have a capacity of 1.2 gigawatts and storage of four hours, making 4.8 gigawatt-hours, more than double the size of the Waratah super battery north of Sydney.
